Last year, my father-in-law gave me a commercial popcorn maker. I love the machine, but I didn’t have an appropriate stand for it. I had it on a 2’x2′ flooring tile on top of 2 TV trays. It worked, but wasn’t the safest way to support the machine. πŸ™‚

Unfortunately, since it is meant for commercial use, the actual “Popcorn” sign on the machine is facing the wall (which is where the customers would be lining up). But since I don’t have the space to show off the sign, it will have to face the wall.

I wanted to build a stand for it and use a cheaper piece of plywood I had on hand. I figured a X shapes base would be a easy and secure way to support it. And I painted it yellow and red to give it a popcorn machine look. I even had some self adhesive letters in red to write “popcorn” on one side.

I made it 37″ tall so it is easier for me to stick my head in and clean it properly after using it. It is the perfect height for me. I secured it to the wall with 2 L brackets just in case. Since it is now 37″ off the ground, it is very top heavy. But the L brackets made it rock-solid.
