Over the course of the winter, I have been working away on an oak bench for our entry way. It has been a long, cold winter and I don’t heat my shop, so I have had limited time out there. We have an insulated attached garage, so I have been able to get away with leaving the door to the house open for a while to heat it up a little. Maybe next year I will invest in something to heat the garage better. It was not fun working out there when it was 5 to 10 degrees Celsius (40-50 F).  I had the bench completed for a couple months now, but wanted to wait until it warmed up a bit before I started the finishing. And now it is finally done.

I found the plan for this bench in Woodsmith Magazine, and altered it a bit to make it 30″ long rather than have a really long bench in our entry way. I also saw it during my build on an episode of WoodSmith Shop.  You can find the plans here: http://www.woodsmithshop.com/download/507/nantucket-bench.pdf
